Sunday activities: Julia Baking

Back to our baking tradition, every Sunday Julia and I used to bake together, everything from bread, buns and cookies.. you name it! Since Alicia was relatively small and I had the study tasks in hand we took it easy on the baking and we only did it once a month or when needed, during the buns national days and so on. We are actually not very fascinated by sweets, that's why a french croissant that gives us the alternative to fill it in with whatever we like is a great option.

Julia is fun to bake with, she sings, she jokes she even treated the dough like a baby and gave it a face and a name :-) hehe reminded me of our favourite short film Dumplings.

When baking with her, I do the ingredient picking and the measurements then I instruct her to do the combining steps one after one. Blending and adding eggs is her favourite part, socially when we brush the croissants with butter and egg mix. I adore watching her get excited while we wait for the baking to be done. She keeps an eye on the timer and always must be the first one to try the first bite :-)
