How To Make Strawberry Salad

This is a summer specialty recipe. I love adding fruits to my summer salads. I sometimes use watermelon, grilled peach, apple... well pretty much whatever I have in the kitchen :- ) and based on that I choose what other ingredients will match the taste.

You can use this recipe inspiration to create your own salad with what you have. Such as replacing spinach with other regular salad types, replace cheese types .. mozzarella, feta etc.. and even change the dressing. It's totally up to you!

You will need!

Strawberry
Cucumber
Spinach
Avocado
Blue or feta cheese
Pine nuts or your choice of nuts
pesto sauce or balsamic sauce  or both
1 tablespoon olive oil

*Quantity depends on servings

Method

Wash salad ingredients well. Then slice the strawberry, cut the avocado to cubes and the cucumber to long ribbons or on your preferable shape.

To make the dressing, in a small bowl mix 1 tablespoon of pesto sauce with the olive oil until it makes a less thick sauce, because pesto is usually thick.

Mix all hard ingredients in a big salad bowl first, then top with the nuts, break the cheese to small pieces with your hand. And finally using a small spoon drop some drops of the pesto and oil mix around the plate ( I avoid mixing my salad with the dressing because it makes it too soft, oily and look drained ).

Optional! Finally splash a bit of balsamic sauce either on the salad bowl or after you serve.
