Reflecting on 2023

Reflecting on the whirlwind that was 2023, I find myself in awe of the incredible journey I've been on. This year, amidst the highs and lows, I accomplished more than I ever thought possible. Despite setbacks and the occasional mental storm, I found the strength to tackle my goals, check items off my bucket list, and redefine my vision for the future.

When I look back at the whirlwind of social media posts, photos, and reels, it feels surreal to think that I crammed what might typically take a year into a single month. Here's a glimpse into the whirlwind of achievements and personal milestones that made this year unforgettable:

-Started my own company / freelance studio and worked on several projects from home while  100% studying and solo parenting.

-Survived burnout and managed to stop medication in only 3 months (Jan-March). I did not accept to be on sick leave for more than 2 weeks. I still did and passed all my exams with A and B grades. I only got an F in Swedish Literature 3 at first, but then I re-did the course during the summer and passed.

-Graduated from Swedish high school in August and got accepted to university right away. Currently studying full time on distance until June 2024.

-Healed my relationship with my mother. Kept a good relationship for months.

-Speaking publicly about my journey in the gaming industry, I delivered seven local and two international keynote addresses. I was honoured to be voted as the best keynote speaker in Amsterdam and appeared twice on Swedish radio, advocating for women in games and raising awareness about the Morocco earthquake.

-I have travelled to Cario, Malmö, Amsterdam, Oslo, Denmark, Ã…re twice, high coast "lighthouse experience from my bucket list".

- I promoted Mendi's ( My homeland's dear friend Moha bensofia ) company in Sweden.

- Became close friends with lots of amazing professional people from the gaming industry and got invited/hosted to so many countless things. I was also offered mentorship through my friendship on distance with  Patrik, Stefan, Tomas, Lars.. all these people who are dinosaurs in the industry that I am so proud of.

- I started working with Nordic Games full-time. A job role that suits my personality and skills perfectly.. as the freedom to work remotely and travel.

- Engaging with a plethora of books, primarily through audiobooks, and immersing myself in thought-provoking podcasts became a cherished part of my routine.

- I did not have a vacation this year because I was constantly on the go...  But using the 80/20 principle I managed well to strategise and use my time wisely for both work and pleasure.

As I bid adieu to 2023, I'm filled with gratitude for the challenges that shaped me, the achievements that pushed me forward, and the invaluable connections that have enriched my life. Here's to a new year, a fresh canvas upon which to paint new dreams, conquer new horizons, and craft yet another remarkable chapter in the journey of life.
