Kayak Trip and Camping in an Island

This last weekend was one of the most remarkable weekends I have ever had in Sweden. We went rowing by a kayak boat to a small island and camped there on Friday night. The weather was amazing, peaceful and everything around us was in harmony, as if it was a perfect master piece of art. I can't  describe how magical it was... maybe this photos are better than words.

We got one more week in August ahead of us to fill with good memories before the summer ends.

At the end I just want to make a small remark about the two givewaways I am hosting on the blog that will end on:  28  and 30 August.

Have a great week!

Khalil Gibran Prophet Print

This weeks favourite goodies, this time from Etsy Shops

I adore Khalil Gibran qoutes. Khalil Gibran (1883–1931) was a Lebanese-American artist, poet, and writer. He is chiefly known in the English speaking world for his 1923 book The Prophet. Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Lao-Tzu.

This print features a quote from the book, ideal as a housewarming gift or just a treat for yourself. Print size 8 x 10 inches on 270gsm premium satin paper. Print unframed, sealed in clear cellophane sleeve and hardback envelope for safe transit.

Find more cool prints here from Little Minch Art: If you would like this print in another size or different colours..

DIY: Burlap Pillow Cover

What a beautiful week ahead of us! August is just slipping away and taking summer with it. Well, well , while I was creating new a fall listing for Nature Whisper Etsy Shop I thought of sharing these tips with the sewing beginners, on how to make a simple envelope closing pillow cover 40x40 cm. Above you see the very first pillow I made last summer with my hand printed family quote on it. Isnt it lovely!

1. Measure the width of an existing pillow cover with the same size 40x40 on the fabric you going to make a pillow of . And leave some longer fabric length on the sides for seam allowance. I placed the existing cover on the end of the fabric and folded it over once, I then added about 4-6" for overlap at the end. (a 40"x40" pillow should be about 40"x66")

2. I folded the short end  and ironed it, 3. fold it over once more to cover all raw edges. Repeat on other short side.

4. Sew the two short sides where you created the hem. 5. Then fold the fabric (right side in) place the cover to the side and adjusted the fabric until its the same length and pinned in place.

5. Sew the two open ends 6. At the end snipped the corners so that they would stick out easily. Then turn it right side out and pushed the corners out. Then your pillow cover should be ready to use!

Best Food Gifts 2

Hello everyone! I hope you all making the best out of your free weekend time. I am doing the best I can with lots of tasks to finish before the week starts. Mostly working on improving the shop and growing it.Today I continue with the "food gift ideas" series. This time it's it isnt about make things by yourself but about collecting small things to create a great big gift for a useful use. Here is a list of  food and drink kits you can collect and design in a pretty way and useing your creativity.

Be sure to include pretty baking cups, every kind of sprinkle imaginable, a tiny booklet of recipes, a squeezable icing bottle, and a frosting spatula. Stuff it all into the cutest lunch box you can find.

Include waffle cones, waffle bowls, jars of caramel and chocolate sauce, tiny bags of chocolate chips, nuts, and loads of sprinkles.
Collect a martini set of all things needed to make a nice cocktail that the person you are given the gift to can only sit and enjoy it without worrying about buying lots of stuff. You could also add some beautiful cocktail glasses.

Fill a 7”x7” square of cheesecloth with ground ginger, cinnamon sticks, fresh nutmeg, and cardamom pods and tie with twine. Include a bottle of wine and an orange pegged with cloves.

Smart Houswife Tricks 2

Hello household trick lovers! I am back with you guys to continue sharing the series of smart housekeeping tricks I collected. If you don't have a pinterests account where you gather your tips and ideas, you can write them down on a small note book instead or record them as short voice clip to your smart phone. I do that all the time when I catch a thought or a new idea I shouldnt miss or forget. So here we go:

1- A lemon works to remove tough food stains from a plastic or light-colored wood cutting board. Squeeze on the juice of one half, rub it in, and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing.

2- The cardboard tube from a spent roll of toilet tissue is a wonderfully simple tool for keeping extension cords tangle-free.

3. Freeze and preserve fresh herbs in olive oil.The herbs will infuse the oil while freezing, and the ice cubes are very handy for cooking: just pop one out and use as the base of a dish. Works best with rosemary, sage, thyme, and oregano. Dill, basil, and mint should always be used fresh.

Dont forget to pin it. And have a wonderful weekend!

Sundsvall Museum

My favoraite place so far whenever I have sometime alone around Sundsvall city centre, is down near the harbour, the magnificent restoration of some old warehouses.

These bueatiful old scandanvian buildings that contain the library and Sundsvall Museum. Besides the library that I feel smart just by walking in hehe... all I can borrow of books in many languages for free, I adore the tiny cafe in the middle of the building, toped with glass ceiling and also partly glass walls that allow the day light to lighten and refresh the space.

Today while I was there I found a hosted exhibition called WHERE NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE? joined by nine artists with mixed categories of visual art such as photography, paintings, drawing ext. Here I chose to share with you some of the magnificent works of art I was impressed by that present clearly the countryside of northern sweden, which became my biggest inspiration since I moved here.

Who knows, maybe oneday I can join an exhibition there. And for me that would be, epic!

Smart Housekeeping Tricks

Hello blog readers! I just started a new category I named it Home and Garden because I have a collection of smart house keeping tricks that I would like to share with you in a series of post. Feel free to pin your favorits and I would like to hear your feedback once you tried some of them. Here we go!

1- Try this on your stove and your home will have a wonderful fresh, clean fragranc. Make Your House smell Like Williams Sonoma A few sprigs of rosemary, lemon slices and a teaspoon of vanilla in a pot and let it simmer on the stove. This is a recipe that they use at William Sonoma Home stores, and we all love how that shop smells, Yum!!

2- To get the water spots off of chrome faucets, after cleaning rub them with a piece of waxed paper- it will keep the water spots and fingerprints from sticking to the clean metal. You can also use a piece of waxed paper on your swifter sweeper. Just rip off a piece the size of the sweeper, attach, and wipe away. The dirt sticks to the paper- so much cheaper than buying the refill kits.

3- Use salt as iron cleaner. Eliminate sticky residue from an iron. Run the hot iron (no steam) over plain paper sprinkled with salt.

Enjoy it!
